Hello, my name is Barry Byrd and I am the owner / photographer and editor of Byrd's Eye Photography. I started taking photos two years ago, mainly to show my friends that live in other areas of the country all of the old abandoned buildings that were in the towns around me. I enjoy long walks and kept finding old places that caught my eye, so I bought a cheap used Fuji Finepix and started documenting what I saw. Many of the Urbex photos on this site are from that camera - luckily I had a few super nice friends that helped me learn the manual settings - getting the right settings and teaching myself how to edit made it possible for the images to turn out decent. After using that camera for about a year, I moved up to an entry level Nikon DSLR and that made a huge improvement in my images. My heart is in Urban Decay / Urbex and Abandoned work, but I am becoming more comfy with shooting people. All of the human images are actually friends of mine that have been kind enough to let me make art with them. I hope to continue to grow as a photographer and explore other categories as well. I can not stress enough how important Art is in life, it's like magic in a sense - it's often unexplainable and can make you feel one or all of the many emotions we possess. My work has been published in several magazines, newspapers and other forms of media - which I feel very proud about because of my newness to the world of art.Thank you very much for visiting my site and click on the Contact button at the top for info about purchasing prints!
